The Tucson “Rescue Rockers” event took place at the Rivers Edge (a local bar in Tucson and huge supporter of the music scene) was a really neat and inspiring idea put together by musicians to support the fans in need who in turn come out to support the musicians, so the idea of this event was like those sayings we have all heard: “An Eye for an Eye” or “Give a Little, Take a Little”
“Rivers Edge came thru in a clutch, Holly & Matt (Rivers Edge) totally rocked & really came thru, they had been called the morning of the show and we explained all that was going on with the weather & with the original location, one phone and it was like sure go ahead, there was never a hesitation, they were totally up for it.”~ Carolyn Cary, Co-organizer & Interviewer of the Breakfast Club Show
The event was donation based and the turn out was exceptional.  Donations included musicians and their music for entertainment, jewelry, an autographed guitar, signed by the local musicians amongst other things, food was also donated & provided, every donation big or small was a step closer to helping those in need.
“ The vibe felt great, being as one the people that has helped put on this Charity event there has been a lot more giving than I expected, it turned out really well, I have every intention of keeping the “Rescue Rockers” charity going, I have learned a lot about jumping into the event it is not as easy is having people give you money and you giving it to the person in need, this turn out gave me a lot of hope that the next event will kick ass. I learned from this giving this week has really given me a lot of lift and attitude to go back on my own situations, my main philosophy about this Rescue Rockers event is you see someone in the bar buying around of drinks to people they hardly know why does not make sense to take one of those drinks turn it into a dollar or two for donation for someone who needs it” ~Michael Jay, Co-Organizer of “Rescue Rockers” & member of El Loco
The music scene in Tucson is definitely its own little breed, growing and getting stronger with the Breakfast club on Saturday at the Rivers Edge & Sunday at the Bandit bands are getting the exposure they deserve.  Bands are getting booked, and playing venues as well as getting paid to play their music which doesn’t happen a lot in Tucson.  The bands in Tucson need the recognition, they need to get paid for what they do, so many of them put up so much for so little.
“Hopefully do every other month. If you have a legitimate cause or need for charity work were going to try and help everyone that we cannot just the musicians” ~ Tom Anthony, Co-Organizer of “Rescue Rockers & member of D2D.
The day was filled with a lot of laughter, joy & life, people coming together from different backgrounds, different needs all for the common goal of helping one another and giving back to the community.  The Rivers Edge was amazing for allowing the event to take place at their location on such late notice and being apart of this event got me thinking about the support that really is out there and my own life and giving back to those when they need it.  I am a big believer of helping out with no expectations nor expecting anything in return, in doing so I stay more positive and just like the saying goes: “What goes around, comes around” I try to live by this on a daily basis and by doing so I get support when needed.
Here is what others were saying about the event:
“All the bands were awesome, very well turnout, the vibe felt good and everyone seemed to be having a good time, want to thank everyone for coming” – Michelle & Woody
“I liked it; my favorite band so far that impressed me the most was Zeppilepsy” – Bruce (Rivers Edge local)
“All the bands that played were really good, had a good time, it was really good to see people come out and support” ~ Unkown
“Today has been fun, the turn out was really good, the bands were pretty sick, Zeppilepsy tore up the stage” – Izzi, member of D2D
The following events also take place at the Rivers Edge:
            Jell-O Wrestling
            Wet T-Shirt Contests
            Karaoke
            Live bands
And the best of all, The Rivers Edge has some of the hottest bartenders in town, if you are in the area, stop by and check it out for yourself
